INTRODUCTION TO PSYCHOANALYTIC THINKING PROGRAM

About the Program:

The program consists of three 10 week trimesters of didactic seminars, one theoretical and one clinical. The classes are divided into two 1.5 hour segments, meeting weekly on Thursdays from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. and 8:15 – 9:45 pm at Imperial Point Medical Center, 6401 N. Federal Highway, Ft. Lauderdale. The classes will begin in September 2010 and end in May 2011.

In addition, a two and a half hour clinical case conference/seminar is offered one weekend a month consisting of case discussion and group supervision. The clinical case conference will be informed by a range of viewpoints explored in the theory and technique portions of the course, highlighting the ways in which central psychodynamic factors influence the therapeutic process. Each student and supervisor contributes to the discussion from their own training and subjective experience, enriching the learning process. Personal psychodynamic therapy or psychoanalysis is not required during the Introduction but is recommended.

These two part courses constitute an introduction and overview of psychoanalytic psychotherapy and theories and techniques from Freud’s seminal theories to contemporary theories. Classes are organized to introduce students to the variety of approaches in psychoanalysis today.

Registration Requirements and Online Payments:

The completed registration form must be accompanied by non-refundable $100 registration fee.  The registration fee will be credited towards tuition.  Click here or the button on the left for online registration.

 

The form and accompanying registration fee must be received by 8/6/10.  Registrants will be notified of class dates and times no later than 8/10/10. Tuition Fee per trimester is $600 (30 CEs/10 classes) or $1,500 for all three trimesters (90 CEs/30 classes).
